If you’re not fully alive and making play a priority you’re not creating real wealth.
After all, if this journey to your financial freedom isn’t enlivening you, stretching you, making you laugh (and cry) and turning the lights on in every aspect of your life – then what’s the point?
Without consciously making this a priority you may build up a pile of mon€y but miss creating a juicy, “gourmet” life you love with money supporting you.
It was during one of these conscious play days (getting soaked and having a total blast at Universal Studios Island of Adventure with my Gourmet Mastermind peeps) that I was inspired to film this short video in which I share with you why creating your financial freedom is like visiting a theme park…
…at least it should be like that.
Watch the video now to find out why…
In the video I explain why I chose to have this particular mastermind meeting at these iconic theme parks and why we chose to spend an entire day “playing”.
One of the reasons is to remind ourselves that everything we see, everything around us, every success and all wealth – started with a thought.
We can create amazing things in this world and all of us have that potential.
All of your wealth, all of your assets, all of your ways of being, your relationship with money, and all of your financial freedom first starts in your mind – as a possibility.
It’s your imagination that creates, sustains and fuels your freedom…
… so it’s vitally important to keep putting yourself in environments that inspire you and where you can be exposed to new thing.
Because one of the big challenges is…
…we don’t know what we don’t know.
We don’t know what is possible.
We don’t even know most of the thousands of ways available to us to create mind-blowingly abundant wealth, ways to create assets from thin air, ways to invest, to make money without having money, and so on because we’re not taught about this stuff in our “normal” education system, we’re not introduced to these “other” worlds.
So back to why creating your financial freedom should be just like visiting a theme park…
… as we went around the various parts of the theme park and on the different rides and experiences, I asked my Gourmet mastermind peeps to view these as though each were just another asset class, just another type of investment and wealth creation opportunity… and they did.
We decided to start at the base of our investment pyramid in Dr. Seuss Landing which is all gentle, smooth little rides.
This was such a reminder to us that as we go into these new worlds, when first enter through the gates of asset-generated income and asset-created wealth, that it’s a whole new reality for us.
We’ve been exposed to and are familiar with earned income but not with how to create these assets that do the earning for us.
It’s important to start off gently so we don’t terrify ourselves and to give us space to expand and adjust to this new world.
We decided to rename Dr. Seuss World, to Index Tracker Land – the perfect starting place to learning how to invest and get comfortable with equity assets.
And then once we do that, we can go to another kind of investment or experience another type of asset class. We upped our ante in Harry Potter World with a little bit more of an adventurous rollercoaster and into the world of volatility where we got drenched but had a blast.
And then we went onto Jurassic Park where we faced some of the monsters that we believe might be out there in the investing world – and a little more drenching…
Finally, we ended up in Superhero Land and the stomach churning Hulk Rollercoaster!!!
We decided to call this cryptocurrency land – LOL!
Through all of these different experiences we remembered we were safe.
…it is always our perception of risk that makes it uncomfortable.
It’s so important to remember that so much of our investing journey is about managing our emotions, managing our fear and being prepared to challenge something that we think we might not like or might be scary but we don’t know if we don’t go and test it.
I want to leave you with the thought that…
Imagine if you said …
…“let me explore a “serviced apartment” strategy or creating a leveraged online business and see what that ride is like? What if that was just a theme park area, a ride that I could learn to get comfortable with?
Maybe it’s index tracking, maybe it’s discovering options trading or exploring cryptocurrency investing.
And who are you choosing to go on that ride with?
Are they people that are going to “oh no, it’s too scary, don’t do that”, or are they going to be people that encourage you and say “come on, I’ll go on it with you”? Let’s test this, let’s practice and see what this feels like.
In the comments below I’d love to know…
- If you ask yourself… “If I approached my life, my investing, creating my financial freedom, as though they were a big theme park, with a series of amazing rides to explore… what difference would that make to how I approach my financial freedom journey?” Would that make it easier, harder?
- What ride is available to you now, what kind of asset creation “ride” could you try out now?” Is it equities and stock market investing, is it properties and using leverage , is it creating an Amazon business? What is that next ride that you’re feeling called to go on and explore?
I’d love to know in the comments below this post.
And remember to have more fun and keep living a rich, juicy life.
